County reports construction progress, Brightspeed internet activated; three minor jail punch-list items remain

"The data contractor will be complete today or tomorrow... so everything will be in and ready to go there," staff said, and noted Brightspeed is progressing through procurement. The Texas Commission on Jail Standards completed a walk-through and identified three minor items — a mirror film to remove, a missing screw on a bench seat, and an ADA grab-bar plate — that must be corrected and documented before the jail can receive occupancy certification.
Staff recommended formalizing card-key distribution with a sign-off process and forms so elected officials control access to their areas; the court asked staff to draft procedures and coordinate with the sheriff's department on master key handoff.
