Fresno County board honors Dulce Gallego for leadership and academic achievement

Presenters noted Gallego’s rank (cadet 1st lieutenant in MCJROTC), academic standing (a reported 4.1 GPA and ranking among top students), and more than 200 community-service hours supporting partnerships between the JROTC program and local organizations. Board members praised her maturity and leadership and encouraged her postsecondary plans; one board member said, "We are so incredibly proud of you." The board and superintendent invited Gallego to be recognized again at district events and noted a $500 presentation made to the student during the meeting.
Gallego was introduced to the board and family members were invited forward for photographs; the board recessed briefly afterward to continue the public-hearing agenda.
