Selectboard approves repairs, maintenance contracts after town office flood

The Isle La Motte Selectboard on Dec. 17 approved a package of contracts and service agreements to address damage from a May pipe burst that flooded the town office. Chair Peter Brzozowy presented contracts for plumbing and flooring work (with Bernie Gage and Liquid Stone, respectively) and asked the board to authorize him to sign the agreements once they are returned signed by the contractors; the board granted that authority.
Clear Water Filtration identified additional pumproom work during on-site repairs and the board approved a $4,283.26 change order to install drain valves, pedestals and replumb two water-storage tanks. The board also approved a one-year maintenance agreement with Clear Water at $140 per month for water testing, chlorination management and staff training. Separately, the board approved a Cintas entry-rug service at $140 per month. The board approved a discounted $16,000 agreement with C.S.I. to replace flood-damaged control boards and air control valves and to enable remote monitoring; members noted the work should be at least partly covered by insurance. Cary Sandvig asked that C.S.I.'s remote connection use a separate router to avoid exposing town systems; Sandvig will coordinate separate access.
