The Isle La Motte Selectboard voted on Dec. 3 to prepare a contract with Bernie Gage Plumbing and Heating to address plumbing work stemming from recent town office water damage. Chair Peter Brzozowy said two bidders responded to follow-up questions; Bernie Gage's plumbing bid was clearer and the board described Elite Construction's plumbing portion as nearly double the cost of Bernie Gage's offer. The motion to prepare the contract was made by Peter Brzozowy and seconded by Mary-Catherine Graziano and carried unanimously.
The board reviewed both bids in executive session under 1 V.S.A. โ313(a)(1)(A) to avoid premature disclosure of bid amounts while members finalized contract language. Karen Brunner, assistant town clerk, was asked to draft the contract so work could begin quickly once the town executes the agreement.
