Superintendent Cruz presented Resolution 2026-20, asking trustees to recognize May 17–23 as Classified School Employees Week and to acknowledge the range of classified roles that support district operations.
"It is our honor to recognize our hardworking classified employees... 2 of them being recognized by Santa Clara County Office of Education moving on to state," Superintendent Cruz said. Trustees offered supportive remarks and moved and adopted the resolution by voice vote.
Trustees emphasized that classified staff are essential partners to certificated staff in supporting students and school operations; the district noted two classified employees had been selected as county employees of the year and would progress to state-level recognition.
