Board approves consent items, election resolution and multiple program plans; votes recorded by roll call

During its regular meeting the Fort Bragg Unified School District Board of Trustees approved multiple routine and substantive items, including consent items, program plans and policy updates.

Key recorded actions included a closed‑session action reported at the opening of the meeting: a motion by Trustee Statham, seconded by Trustee Poe, to approve a partial leave of absence for a certificated employee. The board secretary reported the motion was approved by a 4‑0 vote with one member absent. In open session the board approved the consent agenda (warrants, minutes, personnel reports, contracts and travel) and several action items by roll call, including Resolution 26‑10 (specification of election order for seats in the December election), the Proposition 28 arts & music annual report for FY25‑26, the Arts, Music and Instructional Materials Block Grant plan update, renewal of MOUs with BlockWorks for afterschool programs, the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program plan (ELOP), and various school site plans.

The board also approved board bylaw 92.50 on remuneration and benefits and adopted an initial equity policy. Several items were tabled for further review (notably the district core literature selection list, which trustees asked to return on June 11 with additional staff feedback about age appropriateness and opt‑out/opt‑in procedures). Roll‑call voting was used on several measures; where individual trustee votes were read aloud, the board clerk recorded "yes/aye" votes and the chair announced motions carried.

The board did not adopt any new tax or bond measures or make large one‑time appropriations during this meeting.
