Resident details recurring flooding on 1st Street; city to inspect storm grate

Adam Kennedy, a property owner on 1st Street, presented maps and described recurring stormwater accumulation that owners say inundates the low point in the private roadway and can trap residents when the water rises. He asked for permission to have the area inspected and possibly scoped with a camera to locate any broken or missing sub-surface pipes.
"The line in orange indicates the 14 foot wide drainage easement that was originally put in place," Kennedy said while showing a map and asking the council for assistance to "park our truck here, pull the grate off, and see what is happening." Public works operator Bobby agreed to come to the site with staff, said he would contact Best Septic for camera inspection if needed, and the neighbors indicated a willingness to share inspection costs to move the issue forward.
