Chair said the city had identified the vehicle at a state auction after 'Kelly went and looked at vehicles' and that the truck, a 2012 F-150 with about 142,000 miles, was secured for $8,500. 'We got it for the price of $8,500,' the Chair said. A councilor noted the trucks were EWEB vehicles, which were described as 'well maintained.'
Nicole, who handled the post-meeting purchase logistics, told the council the city had 'only had 48 hours to purchase it once we were informed of the auction,' and said she would complete the online purchase with a debit card if the amendment passed. The council moved to add $8,500 to the September expenditure sheet and a councilor seconded the motion.
By roll call, Mayor Williams, Councilor Healy and Councilor Johnstone recorded 'Aye,' and the Chair announced the motion carried. The Chair said the meeting was brief but important; Nicole then confirmed she would finalize the purchase after the meeting. The special session adjourned at 4:04 p.m.
The council did not discuss additional budget sources or long-term vehicle replacement plans during the meeting; those items were not specified.
