Council approves consent agenda; members note missing commission reports

The Burrillville Town Council moved to approve the consent agenda at its Oct. 22 meeting, including an addition to send a letter of regret and thanks for Mr. Ginjo. The motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
During the reports portion, councilors reviewed items A–Z and observed that several volunteer boards and commissions had not submitted minutes or reports in a timely fashion. Members discussed that some commissions meet but do not forward minutes to the council, and asked staff to clarify reporting expectations and follow up so the records reflect whether commissions met or not.
A councilor asked that the clerk indicate on the reports list when a board had no meeting rather than leaving the report blank. The council approved receipt of the reports and asked administration to address the missing documentation during upcoming workshops.
