County staff reports on SS4a, CDBG‑MIT and FEMA grant status; reapplication considered

On SS4a, staff described recent calls with the U.S. Department of Transportation that identified areas the county should tighten in its application; staff recommended the county prepare to reapply and asked whether the court wanted to pursue resubmission. A staff member told the court, "We attended some calls with the US Department of Transportation. They gave us some insight of things that they thought we needed to tighten up," and recommended leaving SS4a on the grant agenda for follow-up.
The long‑running CDBG‑MIT application related to the 2015–2016 flood events remains in final review after responses to RFIs submitted in November and December; staff reported no substantive new correspondence but is following up. On FEMA DR‑4781/DR‑4780 projects, staff said they are packaging projects and continuing to supply documentation; turnover at FEMA program management has slowed some interactions but staff are inputting materials directly into the grants portal and expect additional follow-up.
