Council approves 6% pay increases and sets portal operator wage to $18/hour

Council considered a set of resolutions authorizing up to 6% salary increases for several municipal positions with rounding rules (some to nearest dollar, some to nearest 50¢ as indicated). After discussion the resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call votes for the city operator, city recorder, relief recorder and relief operator.
Separately, council voted to set the portal operator hourly rate at $18 per hour, effective Jan. 1, citing retention concerns and ease of payroll rounding. The motions carried by recorded ayes from the councilors present.
