WYDOT presents 2026-2031 STIP; commissioners hear update on Black Mountain Road

Wyoming Department of Transportation representatives Pete Hallsten, Cody Beers and Randy Merritt presented the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Hot Springs County covering fiscal years 2026 through 2031. The STIP was described in the meeting as a six-year plan that may change as projects are added, enter construction, are re-scoped or completed; it includes highway, transit, aeronautic and public safety communication projects.
During the presentation Pete Hallsten congratulated Commissioner Tom Ryan on the Black Mountain Road nearing completion and thanked Shane Rankin and the Road and Bridge department for their help on the Wind River Resiliency Study.
