The Chehalis School District Board of Directors on Feb. 17 voted unanimously to accept several community donations, including $160,000 earmarked for a tennis-wrestling facility and $20,000 to W.F. West High School forensics from the Century Vision Benefit Fund.
Board member Lance Tornow moved to accept the donations and Tim LeDuc seconded; the motion passed 5-0. Other donations approved included $6,798.60 to WF West from the Chehalis Music Boosters and $13,328.14 to the W.F. West CTE department from The Chehalis Foundation. The board recorded the motions as routine consent or new-business approvals and noted the funds’ intended program allocations.
The board did not provide additional detail in the minutes about the donor for the $160,000 contribution or a project timeline for the tennis-wrestling facility. Financial approvals for donations were recorded as part of the Feb. 17 meeting consent/new business items; any implementation timeline or capital-project steps will appear on future meeting agendas.
