Board approves overnight travel for cheer, wrestling, DECA and robotics teams

The Chehalis School District board approved several student travel requests. The board authorized 25 W.F. West High School cheer students and four chaperones to attend USA Spirit Nationals in Anaheim, Calif., Feb. 19–24, 2026; 16 W.F. West girl wrestlers and four chaperones to attend the State Dual Competition in Moses Lake, Jan. 30–31, 2026; and 15 DECA students and two chaperones to attend the State Conference in Bellevue, Feb. 26–28, 2026. The board also approved multiple robotics team trips to regional PNW events in Salem, Yakima and Cheney during March and April 2026.
Funding sources were recorded in the minutes: cheer travel financed by student fundraising and the Cheer Booster; wrestling by the Wrestling Booster; DECA and CTE funds for DECA travel; and robotics travel supported by the Chehalis Foundation and a booster group. No district general-fund subsidy for these trips was recorded in the minutes.
