The Burrillville Town Council approved a special event entertainment license for the Downtown Pasco Neighborhood Association (DPNA) to hold an end‑of‑summer block party on Aug. 16 along Bridge Way. The council reviewed traffic and safety plans and required that the DPNA provide a public‑record address and coordinate with police for traffic control.
"We garnered more community involvement," the DPNA representative (speaker 7) said, describing booths from local nonprofits, sports teams and library participation. Council members asked about road closures and confirmed that police and the fire department had been consulted; the applicants said a traffic plan was mapped and one side of the road would remain open for emergency access.
The council moved to approve the license with standard stipulations. Applicants provided contact information for the public record and described the event’s family‑oriented, low‑cost focus.
