MLAC weighs LC 178; members flag potential $25 million effect on Workers' Benefit Fund

Several MLAC members pressed on fiscal impacts. Ryan Hearn (Anduril Industries) noted an estimated $25 million long-term increase in costs to the Workers' Benefit Fund under the concept as discussed; Susan Allen and Matt West (WCD administrator) responded that precise impacts depend on final bill language. Matt West added that the bill will be previewed to the Senate Labor and Business Committee on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 11:30 a.m., and said WCD is working with DCBS research to provide a more accurate estimate once language is finalized.
