Resident urges Lowell to press Lane County for 'No Overnight Parking' signs at covered‑bridge rest area

Ryan Alexander of Sunridge Lane asked the Lowell City Council on July 15 to contact Lane County Parks to install “No Overnight Parking” signs at the rest area by the covered bridge, saying vehicles are occupying parking needed by travelers and leaving garbage behind. Alexander told the council that, according to law enforcement, officers will not remove vehicles without proper signage.
Mayor Maureen Weathers acknowledged the concern and said City Administrator Max Baker already has a working relationship with Lane County and is discussing contract matters with the county. Baker said the issue could be addressed as part of those ongoing conversations rather than as a separate enforcement action.
