The Burrillville Town Council entered executive session on Jan. 14 for collective bargaining, contract continuation litigation and several property and litigation matters. Returning to open session, the council voted to seal the executive‑session minutes and then to disclose several votes taken in executive session.
Councilor disclosures included: administration will withdraw from contract‑continuation litigation; the council will revise resolution 25‑28 (adopted Nov. 12, 2025) authorizing the town manager/planner to apply for a RIDEM 2026 Outdoor Recreation and Acquisition Grant and to amend the grant match to 50%; and the town manager was authorized to enter into an agreement with Peyre Corporation for site assessments of multiple properties for an amount not to exceed $18,650 to be paid from the unreserved undesignated general‑fund balance (fund 0100). The chair noted, per the charter, appropriation from that fund requires an affirmative six votes. The motions were made and seconded; the minutes record the disclosures and authorization.
