The Burrillville Town Council voted to move into executive session under Rhode Island Open Meetings Law to discuss real-property matters including parcels around Pasco Reservoir and ongoing litigation tied to the artificial-turf athletic field and related planning-board appeals. The executive-session motion cited specific Open Meetings Law subsections for property and litigation discussion.
After returning from executive session the council voted to seal the executive-session minutes and to disclose one vote: authorization of a $25,000 transfer from major capital fund number 3820 to the Athletic Field Litigation Fund (fund 0210) to cover litigation expenses. A council member moved to notify the finance department to process the transfer; the motion was seconded and carried.
The council chair noted that none of the plaintiffs in the athletic-field litigation had rescinded their suits, and the town will continue to defend those cases using taxpayer funds unless matters change.
