Burrillville council honors Little League state champions with citation and town-line signs

The Burrillville Town Council opened its Sept. 10 meeting by moving special business forward to honor the Burrillville Little League team that won the 2025 Rhode Island District 4 championship, the town's first state title in 53 years. Council members read player and coach names and handed out citations to the athletes and coaches.
Council then approved a separate measure to place four signs recognizing the champions at prominent town-line locations, including each end of Route 102, South Main (Route 100) and Douglas Pike (Route 7). The motion to place the signs was made and seconded and carried on a unanimous voice vote. Council president congratulated the players and coaches and invited the team and families to remain for additional agenda items.
The action was recorded as special business agenda items 25-281 (citation) and 25-282 (sign placement). No opposition was recorded during the meeting and council members encouraged community participation in upcoming celebratory events.
