At the Jan. 13 Pawnee Board of Education meeting, Elementary Principal Kellie Ehler reported that required emergency drills for the spring semester are underway and that a districtwide tornado drill is planned for March. Ehler said Candy Gram order forms will be sent Jan. 26 and will be due Feb. 6; Candy Grams cost $5 and are for elementary students only.
MS/HS Principal Tammy Hixon told the board classes resumed Jan. 5 and that the school completed a fire drill Jan. 7. Hixon reviewed recent athletic results — the girls’ basketball team finished as runners-up at the Morrison Tournament — and outlined upcoming games and tournaments, including the Yale Tournament Jan. 22–24, wrestling district duals on Jan. 22, and homecoming on Jan. 30. Hixon also noted early releases and a Jan. 19 middle school wrestling festival.
These operational updates accompanied routine consent items and calendar approval; the minutes provide event dates and fundraiser details but do not include extended narratives or quotes beyond the principals’ reported items.
