Commissioner Roman gave a lengthy address urging a larger vision, including a possible multi-year maximum levy commitment and land-banking strategies to address the "missing middle" in housing supply. Roman asked whether levy dollars could be used to secure land; Allison Scribe responded, "Levy money could be used to secure land." Roman suggested the county consider a multi-year commitment to scale staffing and capacity to pursue larger projects.
Commissioner Fahey also praised the CDA's work and leveraged investments, while Commissioner Lynch asked operational questions about vacancies and unit maintenance; staff explained use of Waitlist Central through HousingLink, move-in and preventive maintenance inspections, and lease-renewal inspections to help protect buildings and occupancy.
