The Yoncalla School District Board of Directors voted unanimously Nov. 20 to approve the Student Investment Account (SIA) grant agreement for the coming year.
Superintendent Brian Berry summarized the agreement and said "the money was less for this year," then walked the board through a list of prioritized expenditures and the rationale for funding those items while remaining within the SIA allocation. Director Lisa Frasieur moved to approve the SIA Grant Agreement; Director Twila McDonald seconded. The motion passed with Directors Frasieur, McDonald, Orcutt, Sybrant and Grimes voting yes.
Board members asked no further questions during the public Q&A opportunity. The board did not record dollar-by-dollar line items in the meeting minutes; Berry said the district will incorporate SIA details into the regular budget development process as additional state guidance becomes available.
