Yoncalla schools report full preschool, reading festival plans and Homecoming winners

Preschool Director Megan Barber told the board the preschool program is full and described October activities focused on pumpkins and seasonal science. She also said the P-3 team attended the Early School Success Academy to help set goals for the year.
Elementary Principal Lancelot Falcon reported on a celebration assembly recognizing students for the Six Pillars of Character and noted 4th grade had the highest attendance for September; he reminded families about the Fall Reading Festival on Oct. 29, including that families will be able to take home books. High School Principal Chelsea Ross said 14 students took the PSAT, described a successful Homecoming (seniors won the Spirit Stick; Jayden Churchwell and Delila Peralta were selected Homecoming king and queen), and noted planned field trips for the Culinary and Natural Resources programs to Winchester Bay as well as a new printing machine being tested in the shop class.
