After closed session, Okmulgee Board directs attorney to investigate prior-year expenditures claim

At 7:16 PM the Okmulgee Board entered executive session under OKLA. STAT. tit. 25 § 307(B)(4) for confidential communications with the board’s attorney concerning a pending investigation and claim about certain prior-year expenditures. The attorney advised that disclosure at that time could seriously impair the board’s ability to investigate and respond to the claim.
Upon returning to open session at 7:57 PM (after the compliance statement was read), the board voted unanimously to direct the school district’s attorney to make further investigation consistent with the matters discussed in executive session. The minutes record the motion as approved by Aye votes from Parker, James, Jones and Bohannon.
