The warrant lists six articles: Article 1 would transfer an amount from the capital stabilization fund for lighting improvements at the Haston Free Public Library and the North Brookfield Police Station; Articles 2–5 propose transferring amounts between fire department salary accounts to fund the fire chief salary line item for fiscal 2027; Article 6 would transfer funds from the police office expense account to the electricity account to cover an unexpectedly high police electric bill.
The Chair noted the lighting upgrades resulted from an energy audit done with Guardian Energy and consultant Roger Brooks, and staff cited estimated annual savings of $14,971 for the library and $4,000 for the police department. Staff said the audit PDF can be forwarded to residents who request it. The warrant and full article text were read on the record and the board approved the special-meeting warrant for posting.
