Maupin schedules joint work session with Planning Commission to tackle dark-sky and chicken regulations

Mayor Carol Beatty told the council she had contacted the League of Oregon Cities to provide training for the council and Planning Commission to help the two bodies work together more efficiently. Beatty said the LOC would lead the training, which the council agreed should be scheduled early next year.
Before that training, council members and staff agreed to a joint work session with the Planning Commission on Dec. 4 at 4:30 p.m. to review two specific topics — dark-sky standards and backyard chicken regulations — so the commission understands council direction and staff can clarify any outstanding questions.
