Heritage commission liaison moves to Development Services; staff introduced

City staff announced that the Heritage Preservation Commission's liaison will transfer from Economic Development to the new Development Services Department effective Aug. 1, 2026, and that the commission's first meeting under Development Services will be the regularly scheduled Sept. 22 meeting.
At the meeting a Development Services representative introduced staff who will assist the commission: Sean Osterman (development services manager and building official), Heather Rasmussen (senior planner), Whitney McKeown (admin assistant and recording secretary), Ashley Feskinich (building permit technician) and Betsy Isseyorita (planning technician). The presenter described the move as an opportunity for increased capacity now that Development Services is "really intact," and said the department will continue the commission's outreach and project work.
Members thanked Economic Development for earlier support and expressed optimism that Development Services staff will continue preservation work and technical support. The staff introduction followed the commission's acceptance of the historic properties inventory and was presented as informational; no formal action was required.
