Nathan Gabhart described plans to restart the Ambulance Advisory Board with structured membership including a communications dispatcher from central dispatch, the hospital emergency-department EMS coordinator, ED medical director, city chief of police or designee, Washington fire chief or designee, EMA director, sheriff or designee, the chair of the volunteer fire chief's association, and a member of the volunteer fire department. Commissioners serve as ex officio members and do not vote; a chairperson will be appointed from the membership.
Gabhart said the previous, informal iteration shared useful information but lacked structure; the reinstated board is intended to create consistent coordination among emergency responders. Commissioners approved reinstating the advisory board unanimously.
