Union City Council votes: pension MMO, subdivision, property purchase and other routine actions

Union City Borough Council passed several routine but consequential motions during its Aug. 13 meeting.
Pensions: The borough received the 2025 Minimum Municipal Obligation (MMO) and council approved the 2024 MMO for non-uniform pensions at $48,029 and recorded $0 required for the police pension. Councilor Joyce moved to approve the MMO and Councilor Kerns seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Subdivision and property purchase: Erie County Planning approved survey maps for a subdivision transferring part of 92 West High Street to 88 and 90 West High; council approved and signed the subdivision. Council also approved a retroactive motion to purchase a small portion of property adjacent to the northwest corner of Municipal Lot #3 from the owner of 8 South Street for $500 pending survey and solicitor completion of the agreement.
Other routine actions: Council approved corrections to the posted agenda (changing a Municipal Lot reference and adding discussion of meeting-date changes), approved minutes from the July 23 meeting, and voted to move regular council meetings to the first and third Monday at 6:30 p.m. from September 2024 through April 2025. All motions recorded in the minutes carried unanimously.
