Pawnee Board approves audit, meeting calendar changes and several school policies

The Pawnee Board of Education voted Dec. 9 to approve the district's 2024——2025 audit results and several routine and policy items on its consent and business agendas. The board also approved changes to the 2026 meeting schedule and directed staff to solicit bids for a wrestling facility/weight room remodel.
Board members recorded as present for the meeting were Mrs. Carol Rapp, president; Mr. John Henry, clerk; Mrs. Savanah Waters, vice president; Mrs. Tiffany Higgins, member; and Mr. Gary Vance, member. The board moved to approve the consent agenda, which included the Nov. 11, 2025 regular meeting minutes, purchase orders, and activity fund reports and transfers; the motion passed. Later, a motion to approve the 2024——2025 audit results was made and passed.
Separately, the board approved regular school board meeting dates for 2026 with two time changes: the April meeting was moved from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and the May meeting was moved from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The board also approved second-semester fundraisers and voted to adopt the policy on reporting suspected child abuse and neglect along with the associated report form. Finally, the board voted to request bids to remodel the existing wrestling facility into a weight room. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed.
