Council moved to bring the ordinance forward for first, second and third readings and to vote final passage the same night; members cast recorded 'Aye' votes and the ordinance passed.
Why it matters: The ordinance authorizes a traffic safety device and a corresponding adjustment to the municipal speed-zone language so the crossing can be installed and publicly posted. Staff said DOT plans to post orange warning signs and that the crossing installation can begin once the ordinance is final.
