Viborg council approves Catalyst IT to update police‑station servers

The Viborg City Council on April 13 approved moving forward with Catalyst IT to upgrade hardware that maintains the police station’s connection to Turner County. The motion to proceed was made by Ross Frederickson and seconded by Bill Thorson and passed unanimously.
Tyler Meester and Ray Williams of Catalyst IT told the council that the server hardware currently in use will lose Microsoft security updates in roughly 9–12 months unless replaced or managed. The consultants outlined options for hardware updates and management; the council authorized staff to contract with Catalyst IT to implement the recommended updates.
