The event will include officers testing their planking ability against instructors, optional livestreaming, and a flat‑donation format where community members can give what they wish.
The chief explained the department has relied on donated funds to purchase prior K9s and said the fundraiser is intended to replenish those funds while providing a community event. "Some officers that have volunteered and I gonna test out our core strength and planking abilities... we're gonna give an excuse because then tell them the guys and gals and I that we're gonna have our equipment on," the chief said, inviting public attendance and donations.
Council members thanked staff and noted the event as a community engagement and fundraising effort; no formal council action was required.
