County outlines bridge replacements and paving timelines, cites material and scheduling constraints

Public Works Director Ed McAndrews provided a multi-project update, saying Bridge 82 at Forestburg has a temporary bridge in place and steel girders are scheduled for September. He said construction could finish this year if weather cooperates; otherwise the temporary structure would remain in place into next year.
"Steel girders will be going in in September... they're thinking they can get it done this year," McAndrews said, noting weather remains a factor. He also listed other bridge projects (County Bridge 121 at Parksville, Benton Hollow Road, Bridge 301 near the Neversink Reservoir) and said some are in design with construction anticipated in 2027.
McAndrews added the county is coordinating utility relocations and required permits for several replacements and scour repairs, and that a recent bridge project will be showcased at a bridge conference in Saratoga due to funding and project execution.
On paving, staff reported about 75% completion on scheduled paving, with specific roads (County Road 32, County Roads 84 and 85) slated for additional work. McAndrews said a contractor striper experienced a two-week outage, delaying some line-striping work and prompting consideration of extending the striping contract to catch up.
