Viborg to be named Cardiac Ready Community; AEDs installed at four sites

Kelli Zimmerman of Cardiac Ready Community updated the council that Viborg has placed automated external defibrillators at four public locations — the Post Office, City Hall, the Community Center and Pump N Stuff — and that the town will earn the Cardiac Ready Community designation in May. "There are four locations," Zimmerman said, and organizers credited Penny Doty for installing the units.
Zimmerman said the community will host a "Healthy Heart Beat Day" on June 5 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering free blood-pressure checks and AED and CPR training. Flyers and online notices will provide additional event details. The update was presented as part of the council's public-safety and health agenda items.
