The McCook County Commission voted unanimously Sept. 5 to transfer $1,000,000 from the General Fund to the Highway Road & Bridge Fund.
Commissioner Dean Koch moved “to transfer Cash ($1,000,000) from General Fund to Hwy Rd & Bridge Fund,” and Commissioner Steve Gordon seconded; all five members voted aye. The transfer is intended to provide immediate funds for highway maintenance and scheduled bridge work.
Highway Superintendent Travis Raap had earlier briefed the board on upcoming projects, including a scheduled bridge deck pour for project 44-010-185 on Sept. 23 and the recent delivery of a new motorgrader. The board’s vote supplies cash flow ahead of those planned expenses.
The motion passed during the regular session after routine agenda and minutes approvals. The transfer will be reflected in the county’s fund accounting and was recorded in the minutes as a formal action of the Commission.
