Staff say county plows can pass humps; vehicle‑damage claims routed to risk management

Residents asked whether county snowplows would damage speed humps and what to do if a private vehicle suffered damage. John Shrewsbury and Glenn Henninger said the county’s snowplow equipment is capable of passing over the proposed humps and that operations crews will be aware of signed subdivisions. "They'll be aware when they're in the subdivision that has these, and the signs will be visible yet even though it snowed," Shrewsbury said.
Staff advised that damage claims related to vehicle damage would be handled through the county’s risk‑management claims process and provided contact information for the area engineer (Adam Spector) on the project web page. Glenn noted there may be small areas where a plow has less contact during a pass, but staff said those conditions do not compromise safety. For other vehicle-damage concerns (for example paint stuck during striping), staff said such issues are commonly handled by risk management.
