Public comment at the Glendora Unified board meeting highlighted a split in neighborhood views about a proposed bond extension.
One resident emphasized the small per-household weekly change if the extension passes, saying, “I would save a whopping $3.56 a week” when describing the hypothetical tax effect of not extending the existing rate. That speaker urged residents to consider the lost opportunity to access state matching funds. By contrast, Sam Luna said he did not think “five people should have the ability” to place the bond on the ballot and urged trustees not to move the proposal forward without broader community consent.
The board heard additional pro-bond testimonials from parents who said they moved to Glendora for the schools and asked staff for more details about state matching grant cutoffs and eligibility. Chair Clifford closed public comment before trustees began their discussion.
