The board approved new thresholds: purchases under $3,000 may be made by any town officer or employee; purchases between $3,000.01 and $5,500 require notifying the Selectboard and Town Administrator; purchases between $5,500.01 and $10,000 require prior Selectboard approval and solicitation of quotes from at least three vendors unless a sole‑source vendor is approved; purchases of $10,000 or more are subject to the formal bid process.
Additional changes include a bid waiver form, an exception language for federal and state grant requirements, and authority for the Town Administrator to sign contracts not subject to the bid process. The motion to adopt the amended policy passed unanimously. Town Administrator Aileen Tulloch told the board the policy was needed for federal grant applications that the town is pursuing.
