Treasurer's office intern launches 'Blessing Bags' drive for Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless

An intern working with the treasurer's office described a community volunteer project to collect and assemble 'Blessing Bags' for the Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless. The organizer said collection boxes are located at county points including Gramsville Deli, the Gramsville Post Office, Nevir Singh Town Hall, the government center and the treasurer's office.
"This project is simple yet powerful," the intern said, describing donations of canned food, nonperishable items and toiletries and inviting community members and businesses to donate or volunteer. The intern said the first assembly and volunteer trip is planned for the end of September and that student volunteers will participate in assembling and distributing the bags.
Treasurer Nancy Buck praised the intern's initiative and said the county office would help publicize flyers at the meeting. The presentation was met with applause and thanks from members of the body.
