Klingenberg described how a partnership with Cheney High School culinary students and FFA volunteers sustained the program after a funding shortfall, and she invited council members to visit a dinner service. She gave the council specific dates: a sack-dinner service at Veterans Park on the 27th of this month and hot meals at the Ren Pearson Community Center starting August 31.
Council members thanked the volunteers and asked questions about scheduling and outreach; staff acknowledged the program’s role in the community’s safety net and encouraged continued partnership with local volunteers and organizations.
