During the council’s public comment period, Jennifer Francik (online) asked the council to reconsider temporary STA bus routing onto Golden Hills Drive during roundabout work and to relocate the stops to Simpson Parkway to reduce traffic, speed and safety risks for families in the neighborhood.
Francik said residents are seeing three to four buses per hour, that buses sometimes exceed the posted speed limit, and that the routing is creating noise and safety concerns for families with small children. She also reported an overgrown-weed fire hazard behind a new Golden Hills development and said prior contacts with city staff and an online form had not produced remediation.
The mayor acknowledged the comments and thanked her for bringing the concerns to the council; councilors later thanked the police department for attention to Golden Hills and said staff follow-up had helped address resident concerns on related enforcement.
