The presenter explained DEP’s specific testing and reporting requirements: the pumping test and water‑quality sampling must follow MassDEP guidelines, the pumping test must run at a minimum rate of 1.1 gallons per minute (to demonstrate an approved rate equivalent to roughly 1,190 gallons per day), precipitation should be measured on-site, and PFAS (PFOS/PFOA) testing will be required. The presenter also said DEP wants the project’s Zone‑1 ownership demonstrated and the existing shallow well on the property filled. Commissioners asked for the town engineer (Rob) to review the submission and agreed to continue the hearing to July 27 so the town can provide input before a final local decision. "The pumping test and water quality sampling shall be conducted in accordance with DEP's guidelines," the presenter said.
