Homeowner asks to remove trees near wetlands; RDA continued for site visit

Homeowner Ayman Ibrahim told the commission he wants permission to remove several trees at 282 Brookside Drive because branches fall near the house and ‘‘my kids are scared’’ that a tree might fall while they are playing. He said the trees are close to a shed and that he plans to hire a contractor for the work.

Commission members reviewed aerial maps and buffer zones and determined the trees appear to be outside the 100‑foot buffer but inside the 200‑foot riverfront buffer. Because the filing lacked clear photos and exact tree locations, commissioners asked Ibrahim to mark the trees and agreed to do a drive‑by inspection; the RDA hearing was continued to July 27 so the commission can inspect the marked trees before acting. "Just put something around the ones you wanna take down, and then let us know when they're marked so we know which one we're looking at," the chair said.
