SCORE gives Isleton a stay; council told to show progress by March

City staff told council that SCORE, the Small Cities Organized Risk Effort, granted Isleton a stay of termination on insurance membership conditional on a $15,000-per-month payment plan. Staff reported handing over an initial payment and said the SCORE board will reassess at its late-March meeting and could require full payment for the fiscal year by June 30.
"The termination notice is stayed if the $45,000 amount, 15,000 a month, has been paid by the March board meeting," a staff presenter said. Staff added SCORE has asked for more in-depth city financial statements at the March meeting to determine long-term options.
Councilors asked whether SCORE's decisions could jeopardize municipal operations; staff said the city remains under conditional status and that the board has not yet recommended termination, but emphasized the city must present clearer finances at the March meeting to avoid escalation.
No action was taken beyond directing staff to continue the payment plan and prepare required financial documentation for SCORE's review.
