Haley Hull, Sherwood FFA president, told the board about her four-year experience in Sherwood's agriculture and welding classes and the career-development opportunities FFA provides. "Through FFA, I have gained so many lifelong skills that I'll never forget," Hull said, describing Career Development Events such as job-interview competitions and agricultural-sales projects she took to state competitions.
Todd, the chapter secretary, noted the chapter represents roughly 430 members and emphasized the program's role in leadership and career readiness: "It's a great way to help build our leadership skills... once we graduate high school and go out into the workforce, we already have the skills in place that set us up for success." Board members thanked the students and highlighted the greenhouse plant sale in May as a major chapter fundraiser.
