A student presenter told the Sherwood School District 88J board about several upcoming student events, including a Broadway choir concert scheduled for Jan. 29, an all-school mental-health awareness week and ticket sales for the district's annual pageant fundraiser for Doernbecher Children's Hospital. "It regularly brings in about $40,000 to the hospital," the presenter said of the pageant.
The presenter described mental-health week themes ("Mellow Monday," "Team Up Tuesday," dress-like-a-teacher day, a pink day and a green-out) and said proceeds from sold awareness shirts help support districtwide activities. Students and staff said tickets for performances will be sold online and promoted on social channels and local posters. Board members thanked students for organizing and highlighted the events as opportunities for community engagement and fundraising.
