Pool construction progressing; council discusses fee waiver, tree removals and repaired crosswalk beacon

Mayor Jim Retzer told the council that "the pool project is coming along," noting some subcontractors have worked on weekends and that the contract runs through the end of September with hopes of earlier completion.
Councilmembers Golden and Schaefer suggested waiving pool fees if the season is shortened because of construction timing. Administrator Matt Hammer said he will look into planned Main Street tree removals after a concern from Councilmember Sevedge about acorns creating slippery conditions. Hammer also reported that the crosswalk beacon at Main and Thorn was struck by a car, but the device is designed to break away and the city used an extra base to repair it quickly.
