Arden Hills wins Met Council water-efficiency grant; residents could receive credits up to $200

City Administrator Jessica Jagoe told the council Arden Hills’ application to the Metropolitan Council’s Water Efficiency Grant Program was approved and summarized program scope and benefits. Jagoe said the total amount allocated to the city for this project is $38,750 ($31,000 Metropolitan Council maximum grant plus a $7,750 city 20% match). "The City recently learned that it was approved to participate in the grant program," Jagoe said.
Jagoe explained the 2026–2028 grant period expands eligibility to certain commercial devices (washers and dishwashers only) and to replacement of water devices or turf on city-owned properties. Eligible residential participants may receive a utility bill credit of up to $200 and eligible commercial accounts up to $500, subject to program rules and equipment eligibility; the program will operate on a first-come, first-served basis once the city executes the grant agreement. Council approved Resolution 2026-033 to accept the grant and authorize required actions (motion carried 5-0).
